Born and raised in Italy, Alessio moved to London in 1993 to study photography at the London College of Printing. His extraordinary photography has captured stunning portraits of some of the world’s most iconic musical artists, including U2, Pink, The Rolling Stones, Gwen Stephani, Snoop Dogg, Metallica, and Neil Young, for such high profile publications as The N.M.E. (New Musical Express), The Times and The Guardian and all major and independent record labels. In 2002 he moved back to Italy and started collaborating with Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Max, expanding beyond the music business into cinema and show business at large and advertising (Danone, Nike, Fiat Yamaha e Jeep). In 2012 he moved to Locarno (Switzerland). Just a Shot Away, his first retrospective exhibition, was launched in Milan before touring to Bari, Como, Zurich, and Lugano. In 2013, Alessio was named the official photographer for the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, Europe’s fourth-largest film festival, capturing intimate images of many A-list actors, including Harvey Keitel, Edward Norton, Christopher Lee, Fay Dunaway, Melanie Griffith, Andy Garcia, and Michael Cimino. In 2014, Alessio put to work his extensive set experience to fulfill a long-held passion to expand into the film world. He wrote and directed his first short film, Like a Deadman in Acapulco. In 2014 he filmed Glastonbury, a short tv documentary for the Swiss tv RSI (CH). In 2013 he co-wrote and realized Pictures of You, a 12 episodes radio show for RETE TRE - RSI (CH). In 2017 He Shall Be Levon, his first English screenplay, reached the second stage at Sundance and Austin film festival. In 2018 he co-wrote and realized the second season of Pictures of you, RETE TRE - RSI (CH). His first novel Rito di Passaggio edited by the prestigious editorial publishing company Baldini & Castoldi (Ita) was released in 2021. His first feature film DAWN CHORUS (written and directed by) was released in 2022.
